Building Performance Standards

Building Performance Standards (BPS) represent a fresh strategy to enhance building efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. They're essentially policies that establish clear targets for larger public and private buildings to meet regarding various aspects like energy consumption, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions. These standards evolve progressively, pushing for ongoing enhancements in building performance over the long haul.

Over 30 cities and some states have committed to enacting some form of Building Performance Standards by Earth Day 2024 (April 22, 2024).
